MHPSS Advisor, Shona Whitton & MHPSS in Emergencies Intern Augustin Lambert have prepared another two Guidance Notes in a series of publications on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) implications in the context of health emergencies and disasters.
In a disaster or emergency setting time is essential and developments are often unpredictable. We are aiming to provide tools that can be applied by Red Cross Red Crescent staff and volunteers for MHPSS immediately and in a variety of contexts

The guidance notes are intended for Red Cross Red Crescent Movement components who may be responding to heatwaves and wildfires in their country, or region. They include guidance on:
- common reactions and behaviors during and after heatwaves/wildfires
- integration of MHPSS considerations for disaster responses
- links to existing relevant materials
