The RCRC Movement MHPSS Hub, the International Committee of the Red Cross and British Red Cross are hosting a webinar on the recently published Review of the current evidence base for MHPSS in emergencies.
The review
The review examined the evidence for MHPSS activities and interventions used in humanitarian emergencies, including armed conflicts, disasters, and displacement crises. Its aim was to identify current MHPSS approaches, assess the strength of the evidence supporting their effectiveness across the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s MHPSS Framework, and provide practical guidance for practitioners. for future research to strengthen evidence-informed MHPSS programming in humanitarian settings.
The review was commissioned by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), conducted by the British Red Cross and reviewed and prepared for publication by the RCRC MHPSS Hub for use by partners from the RCRC Movement and broader humanitarian actors, and stakeholders.

The webinar
The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Sarah Davidson, Chief Mental Health Officer from the British Red Cross, with a short presentation from lead author Dr. Vanessa See Heng Yim, Psychosocial Practitioner from the British Red Cross and followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Vanessa See Heng Yim, Shona Whitton, MHPSS Technical Team Lead from the MHPSS Hub and Dr. Omar Rasheed from the ICRC.
During the webinar, we will discuss the review methodology, reflections on its findings, applicability to practice and lessons for future research, monitoring and evaluation of MHPSS in emergencies.
