Podcast series: Indian Ocean tsunami 20 years on

The final episode of a four-part series of the Heartbeat of Humanity podcast reflecting on the impacts of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis is now published.

While there were some successes, the response was chaotic and poorly coordinated, leading to duplication of effort and inappropriate aid. This led to significant reform in the international humanitarian response sector. December this year is the 20-year anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami. To commemorate the anniversary, we are dedicating a series of episodes of Heartbeat of Humanity to reflecting on the long-term impact of the 2004 tsunamis and how the tsunami influenced the development of MHPSS practice
