SUMMARY:2nd Research Carnival on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
DESCRIPTION:Reimagining Wellbeing: Indigenous Knowledge and Approaches and Protection of Humanitarian Workers\n\nWe are pleased to invite researchers, practitioners, humanitarian professionals, students, volunteers, and others with an interest in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to participate in the 2nd Research Carnival on MHPSS taking place from 23-25 September 2026 at The Boma Nairobi, Kenya.\nThe event is hosted by the Kenya Red Cross Society and organised by the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement MHPSS Hub, Kenya Red Cross, British Red Cross, and Swiss Red Cross societies, in partnership with Protect Humanitarians and McGill University.\nBuilding on the success of the inaugural Research Carnival held in Copenhagen in 2023, this three-day event aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from across disciplines and sectors to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration on MHPSS research and practice.\nThe theme of the 2nd Research Carnival,“Reimagining Wellbeing,” will explore Indigenous and community-led approaches to wellbeing, as well as a wide range of issues related to mental health and psychosocial wellbeing in humanitarian settings. A dedicated thematic day will focus on the protection, safety, and wellbeing of humanitarian staff and volunteers, including duty of care, staff support, and recovery after violence.\nThe 2nd Research Carnival is an in-person event only and participants are encouraged to attend the full programme. There is no participation fee; however, participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, visa, and other related expenses. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the event.\n\n\nRegistration is open from 9 July until 13 August at 23:59 CEST. Read more about the registration process and the programme ( https://mhpsshub.org/about-us/what-we-do/research-network//participant-registration/ ).\n\nFor questions regarding the 2nd Research Carnival, please contact the RCRC Movement MHPSS Hub coordinators:\n\nCátia de Matos (camat@rodekors.dk ( mailto:camat@rodekors.dk ))\nClara Thi Thanh Heilmann Jensen (clath@rodekors.dk ( mailto:clath@rodekors.dk ))\n\nPour toute information complémentaire en français, veuillez consulter la FAQ ici.\n
